This limited release is produced from Scottish unpeated malted barley, yeast, and water drawn from dark aromatic Isle of Mull lochan. Dual location maturation employs an innovative technique , ensuring mainland and island influences. For the first 14 years, Tobermory 15 is matured at Deanston Distillery in ex-bourbon casks before being transferred back to the Isle of Mull for its final year of maturation in Gonzalez Byass Olorosso casks. This beautiful expression of Tobermory is un-chill filtered, keeping all of its natural flavor and deep character. Un-chill filtered whiskies retain all the oils and fatty esters that develop during maturation. Instead of chilling the pipe before bottling and striping key elements, the whiskey is simply filtered, allowing all components of the profile to remain. When water is added, a heavenly clouding occurs, proving it is whiskey in its most natural state.
